Basketball Courts

There are eight basketball courts in the community.  The courts may be used during daylight hours by Community Members and their guests.  The Basketball courts may be reserved.  Please stop by the Association Community Center Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5 PM or give us a call at (703) 729-6680, or send an email to Info@afhoa.net to make a reservation. Reservations are posted on the community calendar so others can see bookings and plan accordingly.  Reservation requests must be made at least twenty-four hours before the requested date, during Association office hours which are Monday – Friday 9 AM – 5 PM.  Reservations are first-come, first-served, and are limited to four hours including setup and cleanup

Rules for use of Basketball Courts

  • Patrons of the Association basketball courts use the courts at their own risk.

  • The Member that booked the reservation is responsible to ensure all Association Rules are followed during their reservation. 

  • The basketball courts close in the dark and so the basketball courts are only available for use during daylight hours. 

  • The Association asks that you collect any items or trash at the end of your reservation/use.

  • No pets, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, skate shoes, cleats, etc., are allowed on the basketball courts.

  • Propper attire, including appropriate footwear, must be worn at all times.

  • The basketball courts are for basketball, or similar games utilizing a basketball.  All other use is considered trespassing.

  • Defacing the Association’s common area property, including basketball courts, trash cans, etc. is unacceptable.  All efforts will be made to hold those responsible accountable.

  • No hanging on the rims or backboard.

  • Ashburn Farm Association assumes no responsibility for any accident or injury in connection with such use or for any loss and/or damage to personal property.

  • No alcoholic beverages are permitted at any time.

  • No vehicles are allowed in the common area.  Unauthorized vehicles in the common area are trespassing.

  • No trespassing.  Participating in the prohibited activities listed above will be regarded as trespassing, and the Sheriff’s Department will be contacted at (703) 777-1021.

 

The courts were resurfaced in June of 2021 and are maintained on a five-year cycle.

  • Windmill Drive – This court is located off of Windmill Drive near Butterfield Court.  There are no bathroom facilities or parking nearby.  

  • Corner Post Square – This court is located within the corner post-Square Neighborhood.  There are no bathroom facilities or parking nearby.  

  • Breezyhill Recreational Area – These two courts are located off of Hay Road and are part of the Breezyhill Recreational Area.  Parking is available near the courts.  There are no bathrooms available. 

  • Chokeberry Square – Located in the Chokeberry Square Neighborhood, near the pedestrian bridge. There are no bathroom facilities or parking nearby. 

  • Gardengate Circle – Located off the walking trail on Gardengate Circle and are part of the Gardengate Recreational Area, which lies just north of the Association’s beloved White Oak Tree & Springwater Court.

  • Plantation Terrace – Located in the Plantation Terrace Neighborhood, near the pedestrian bridge.  There are no bathroom facilities or parking nearby. 

  • Summerwood Recreational Area – Located off of Golden Meadow Circle, and are part of the Summerwood Recreational Area.  Parking is available near the courts.  There are no bathrooms available.
